Anita Ko for Tibi

– By Teresa Greenfeld –

When two of our favorite things – in this case, Tibi and diamonds – come together, we can’t contain our excitement. Tibi designer Amy Smilovic, in collaboration with jewelry designer Anita Ko, have launched an exclusive capsule collection of jewelry that speaks to both designers love of a clean, modern and edgy esthetic. Of the collection, Smilovic says, “The idea was born from the desire to have everyday luxurious jewelry – an update to your mother’s classics. I bought my first pair of Anita Ko earrings from Net-a-Porter two years ago. Her designs are clean and versatile but very much create a statement. Anita and I have a very similar approach to design in this sense.

Describing her inspiration for the three custom pieces (a rose gold and micro-pave diamond dagger pendant necklace, an 18K gold and diamond ‘floating’ earring, and a square stacking ring in diamond and 18K yellow or white gold) Smilovic told us, “I’m having a moment with ear cuffs that convey multiple piercings. Our diamond floating earring is unusual and unexpected yet wearable in gold and diamonds. I love small rings worn above the knuckle. I recently found a photo of Prince Edward, in the time of Wallis Simpson, wearing this look. I found it unique and alluring. The dagger necklace is simplistic, luxurious and tough all at once.”
