Bags to Be Had: Elena Ghisellini FW15

No matter if it’s day or night, every single moment we live in life is perfect to wear an Elena Ghisellini handbag. The florence based designer always surprises us with her fashion skills and brings us her edgy yet elegant luxury bags made of fine Italian leathers.

For Fall 2015, her signature cat-face designs has evolved thanks to an influence of art and nature resulting in a collection with a little something for everyone; fetish-punk elements and romantic colourways, graphic-urban details and sensuality, softness and stiffness, shiny and matt.

Nina and Chaos are the new models. Nina, an envelope bag with a distinctive band, proposing shade on shade (or you can choose to contrast) that enwraps the bag and conceals the zipper. Chaos on the otherhand is a roomy knapsack with a clean, soft line and interchangeable shoulder straps.

Ghisellini works to match shapes, colours and materials and transform them into contemporary contrasts, playing with the duality that characterizes the contemporary woman and her life between day and night.

The note says that the collection is “contaminated by the Expressionism of the 1920s and by Pop Art, which spawns an informed and clear aesthetic flaunting lines and shapes that are consciously contradictory”.
