Collection Spotlight: Marchesa’s First Full Shoe Collection

The wait is nearly over, Marchesa’s first ever, full shoe collection will be available in select department stores come January 2016.

The fashion house, which was founded by British duo Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig in 2004, partnered with AKH Group, a footwear and handbag licensing company for the lineup. “We are excited to be working with AKH Group to launch Marchesa footwear,” said Edward Chapman, CEO of Marchesa. “They have a true understanding of the Marchesa customer, and as experts in the footwear industry, have worked closely with Georgina and Keren to seamlessly translate the brand to this new category.”

Handmade in Italy, every shoe features the highest quality materials including nappa, alligator, water snake and ombre python leathers finished with Swarovski crystals and laser cut detailing. Prices will range from $475 for an espadrille flat to $1,695 for a fully embroidered jeweled peep toe pump.

“The collection is designed as a complement to our seasonal collections,” says Chapman. “This season we’re focusing on 3-D leather florals, supple suedes and delicate ribbon ties.” Craig continues: “We thought a lot about how to make the shoes as comfortable as possible. We used the highest quality leathers and suedes for the collection, and Georgina and I tested all the prototypes ourselves to make sure they fit correctly and do not rub against the skin.”

The brand intends to release four collections a year following a traditional ready-to-wear schedule. The Marchesa women better start making room in her closet for these incredibly stylish offerings.
