Designers to Watch: Chelsea Paris

A gorgeous pair of shoes is always a way to step up any outfit. Inspired by African heritage, the Chelsea Paris collection is a mixture of vibrant colors and rich textures infused with elements from the Deco era of the 1920′s, as well as historical French fashion. Founded by the nigerian-born, UK raised Theresa Ebagua, Chelsea Paris is much more than a footwear label. For some people, shoes are just shoes, but for Ebagua, shoes can tell a story about a woman.

Chelsea Paris – named in honour of her two daughters – is a balance of feminine modernity and tradition. Shoes are designed in London and expertly handmade using traditional methods in Italy. Style? An effortless line between on trend desirability and timeless style.

For Spring Summer 2015, Chelsea Paris takes an artisan approach to the brand’s signature Art Deco elegance, blended with organic geometric shapes inspired by African textiles and sculptures. The result is edgy graphically layered uppers alongside classical soft feminine shapes. The collection represents the free spirited woman with a sense of individuality and identity with a fearless approach to style. A modern day Josephine Baker.
