DryBy London

In July 2015, the sister tag-team of Anita and Krisztina van der Boom opened DryBy and it has swiftly become the absolute go-to for both signature blowouts and one of the best nail-art manicures London has to offer.

“My sister, Anita and I grew up in Budapest where regular spa visits are part of women’s everyday beauty ritual, as well as social ritual. Having lived in London for many years we decided to bring a piece of our heritage from Hungary to London and open a social, beautiful space bringing quality hair and nail art services under one roof in London.”

And that they did. Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, Dryby lives in a 19th century building on Mortimer street. With original fireplaces, wooden floors and wall treatments, celebrated interior designer, Clemence Pirajean had a fabulous foundation to work with coming in and providing an injection of modernity thanks to marble countertops, gold accents and mid-century modern furnishings creating a calming environment that is warm and inviting yet ultra-chic.

The stunning ambiance will certainly get the crowds in but it’s the service and outcome of their nail art manicures and specific blowouts and treatments that has this salon reaching cult status. Their signature services include the deep pedicure which was inspired by the Spa pedicures of Budapest, the DryBy nail art collection which are known for a minimal, understated aesthetic and their scalp treatments using botanical oils and a massage based treatment.

They also provide a capsule of five blow-dry styles that are expertly executed and specifically pinpoint to the hair you have and what you’re looking to leave with. Whether you want to give new life to your tight curls, have beach-ready waves or simply want your long hair looking sleek rather than tangled, they have the remedy for it. Each blowout also comes with a quick wash, head massage and hydrating treatment so you’ll leave not only looking great but feeling great.

Two and a half years later, they now find themselves a part of the Regents Street portfolio of the Crown Estate (Her Royal Highness the Queen of England) in Central London as well as selected by the Estate for being an independent, fresh, service-led (as opposed to product-led) beauty business.
