Giorgio Armani: The Eccentrico Exhibit

“Since the opening of my first store in New York in 1985, I’ve always had a loyal following in the city. A great show presenting my Haute Couture collections to the American public for the first time is my way of saying thank you. I’m looking forward to spending a memorable evening surrounded by the many friends I have made there over the years.” – Giorgio Armani

October 24th, 2013 not only marked the first appearance of Mr. Giorgio Armani since 2009, but is now forever known as “Giorgio Armani Day” as stated by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, “for his longstanding relationship with the city of New York, for supporting the fund for public schools and contributing to the economy of the city of New York alongside the great influence made by Giorgio Armani on the international fashion industry.”

Thursday night also brought along “One Night Only”, an extravagant couture showing from the designer marking the opening of The Eccentrico exhibit – a three day, three night endless gallery – which after spending time in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Milan and Rome is now here in New York City for the public to enjoy.  Full of some of his most prized designs from Armani Prive, stage gear (from the likes of Lady Gaga) and of course impeccable gowns from his Giorgio Armani collections, this is something for all fashion and art lovers alike.

As one of the leading fashion and luxury good companies in the world, The Armani Group’s intention is to highlight their most elite garments and unique accessories as they present this retrospective collection here in the big apple.  With 54 pieces ranging from 1985 to present day we can delight our senses as we are able to get up close and personal (for free might we add) with these innovative, fashion forward and ultimately inspirational designs.

“There’s spontaneity in my American audience, and they have such a sincere way of expressing admiration that, as a designer and entrepreneur, it encourages me to continue working with fantasy and commitment.” – Giorgio Armani

Take advantage of this one weekend only and go see the exquisitely curated collection of stunning designs at the SuperPier at Hudson River Park, open from 10:00am – 8:00pm (and shop some of our current favorite Giorgio Armani pieces below right now).
