Hotel Spotlight: Armani Hotel in Dubai

We recently posted about Level Shoe District in Downtown’s Dubai Mall, adjacent, is none other than the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa, the 828 meter, 160 story architectural feat by Chicago-based Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP.  At the base you will find the Armani Hotel, the Italian brand’s second luxury lodging after Milan and quite possibly the epitome of elegant, contemporary design.

No trip Downtown is complete without a night or two of R&R in one of the 160 guest rooms and suites. Armani’s signature tonal palette is evident throughout – every minute detail is a personal reflection of the designer.  We adored our fountain suite, from its perfect view of the staggering water display down below, to its iPad controlled amenities. There are also Lifestyle Managers available on every floor to cater to your every whim, from in-room hospitality to excursions and personalised spa packages.  Guests can also choose from seven award-winning restaurants and lounges including a deli, Mediterranean, Japanese and Indian cuisine, headed up by seasoned chefs, selected from around the globe.

At.mosphere Burj Khalifa:

For those with a head for heights, an ascent up to At.mosphere on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa is an event worth experiencing. You start by stepping into the world’s fastest elevator, taking you to a height of 442 meters in less than 44 seconds. Within the world’s highest restaurant and lounge you can enjoy a delicious high tea or full à la carte menu for lunch and dinner, courtesy of Executive Chef Jerome Lagarde. By day, you can enjoy a 360 view of Downtown Dubai and, on a clear day, across to The Palm and the city’s many other architectural masterpieces. Team OP enjoyed high tea in the lounge, with its rich amethyst interior, and relaxed velvet seating – also designed by Tihany. Staying for sunset with a glass of bubbly makes for a fittingly glamorous conclusion to your stay, whilst after-dark an in-house DJ complements the glittering skyline.
