How To Rock: Camel

Classic camel goes way beyond coats this season, and that’s great news.  It’s a color that almost always looks clean, refined, and chic – whether it be a demure slipdress, a silk bow blouse, or monochromatic separates.  The trick is to pick the right silhouette and season-appropriate fabric/texture.  Furthermore, camel matches everything, and it is the only shade other than black that actually looks grand when worn from head-to-toe – yet it is easy to enhance it with fur trim (like this MaxMara topper), feathers, bold jewelry or collected tailoring.

When in doubt, camel shoes are the easiest starting point – the only rule is to not pair them with dark tights. These Tania Spinelli  suede high-heeled boots offer an easy transition from the office to the weekend, while a basic camel pump has absolutely no limit.  For some old school glamour, pick up a camel Maddelena ostrich clutch from Dolce & Gabbana with gold hardware – couple it with that DVF little black wrap dress and you are bound to be an imminent threat.

Finally, camel pairs particularly well with tea-stained whites – try a knit in this majestic mix with an off-white wool skirt, and you’ll get that luxe winter nudes look that is most certainly appropriate for Fall.
