Beauty Roundup: Non-Invasive Beauty Treatments (and where to get them)

As some of our beauty experts spoke about recently, when the weather gets colder our skin tends to lose a lot of the perks summer provides (glow, ) luckily, there are amazing non-invasive procedures that can have you in and out of an establishment in less than 15 minutes looking better than new! Here are three of our favorite treatments found from LA to Hong Kong.

IPL Photo Facial
Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL, is also known as a ‘photo facial’ treatment because it delivers broadband light through the skin to help with rejuvenation. IPL aims to restore youthful looking skin and is intended for photo-aged or sun-damaged skin. It helps decrease facial redness, lessens the appearance of pigmented spots, reduces pore size and improves skin texture and fine lines.

Skin Laundry, which has locations across the States and in Hong Kong, is our go-to for photo facials. Their unique method involves using a YAG laser and IPL. The laser actively vaporizes excess dirt, makeup and bacteria from your pores, and can help with pigmentation and collagen production. The IPL works with the skins natural brown and red pigments to even out the skin tone and stimulate the natural collagen that lies within the dermis.

Chemical Peel
A Chemical Peel removes a layer of damaged skin from the face using a chemical reaction to reveal a newer, healthier skin layer. The solution applied causes mild trauma to the epidermis of the skin, which causes the outer layers to peel away. When the skin heals, increased cell growth produces new skin layers that give the face a more youthful appearance.

For those of you in London, we recommend the Dr Obagi Blue Radiance Peel from Beauty & Melody, which is composed of a unique blend of Salicylic, Lactic and Glycolic Acids, designed to exfoliate the skin and improve the overall complexion. Gently rejuvenating the skin, the Blue Radiance Peel will reduce age spots, sun damage and blemishes, all while improving the texture of the skin.

A microdermabrasion facial is performed using a high-tech hand-held device that forces a powerful spray of aluminum oxide crystals on to the face, hands or décolletage. The crystals loosen dead skin cells, which are then quickly vacuumed away. The tiny crystals finely sand and polish the skin leaving it smoother, softer and more youthful.

Our top pick is the Los Angeles based Aeonium Integrative Skincare Clinic, which offers a full body Diamond Tome microdermabrasion that uses natural diamond chips instead of the more common aluminum oxide to remove the outer layer of dead skin, revealing a new you.
