Jewelry Trends via JCK Las Vegas

JCK Las Vegas is the leading jewelry event in North America open to all jewelry professionals, offering exclusive buying, networking, and educational opportunities you won’t find anywhere else. Each year, the industry gathers where the latest awe-inspiring domestic and international designers and most sought after trends are showcased in a secure environment.

The 4-day event combines a plethora of networking events and complimentary education sessions with the industry’s broadest selection of finished jewelry, gems and timepieces. And during a time where jewelry trends seem to have an ‘anything goes’ mentality – showcasing everything from teeny tiny charm like pieces to large statement cuffs and collars – it was the perfect year to view all the industry has to offer.

This year many exhibitors opted to showcase classic pieces with a modern twist. For instance, stacking bands with rose-cut diamonds instead of faceted pavé and Indian heritage pieces with black rhodium. Other trends showcased were the utilization of mixed metals, a blurred line of costume and fine jewelry – mixing and matching high and low pieces, cuffs, layering, bold colored stones and embracing mismatched earrings.

“Classics are propelling the industry forward,” explains Sam Gevisenheit of IGC Brand Services, a diamantaire that works with newer jewelry designer (and wedding ring specialist) Laurence Bruyninckx. Not surprisingly, stacking rings are still strong, a point reinforced by Bruyninckx’s line of mix-and-match sets and expansions of Timeless Designs’ My Story line of layerable styles.

Brands not to be missed include Rahaminov, which not only exhibits the most incredible diamonds but they actually let you try them on and Parade Design, which is well-known (and well revered) for its stunning bridal line, but it’s often their colored stone collections that we get most excited about.

This year’s event was held from 3rd June to the 6th June 2016 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. So, if you need to make it big with all that glitters, this is the place to visit.
