Lines We Love: By.Bonnie Young

With over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, Bonnie Young decided to launch her women’s collection for fall 2016.

After a 16-year stint at Donna Karan, half of which she spent as Creative Director, Young left the company for a singular new venture – to open her own company designing clothes for children. Hers was a luxury level collection for kids and she opened her own store in Aspen, which quickly attracted global editorial coverage and high profile collaborations with Adidas and Swarovski.

“Women were buying my kids collection for themselves,” said Young, which is why she decided to transfer the store lease to Donna Karan Urban Zen last September to focus on her new venture: BY. Bonnie Young, a fully-fledged women’s wear collection. “This is really my clients pushing me to do women’s” Young explained.

Her design perspective for BY. Bonnie Young is rooted in a modern point of view: for women who look for great versatile pieces to add to their wardrobe. Her designs are artful with powerful sensibilities that speak directly to her customers. It’s an unmistakably adult line with an undercurrent of urban womanliness. “It’s uber luxury to speak to your soul,” Young said. “It’s super wearable and all about layering, dressing it up or down and just being glamorous.”
