Lines We Love: Jennifer Behr

Jennifer Behr introduced her namesake collection of distinctive, luxury hair accessories in 2005. Since then, the collection has grown to include a range of stunning headpieces, jewelry and belts.

After majoring in sculpture and art history, Jennifer honed her skills stitching custom headpieces at a tiny millinery shop. This eventually led to Jennifer designing the hair accessory collection for hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai in 2001. When Fekkai discontinued his hair accessory line, Jennifer’s buyer at Bergdorf Goodman encouraged her to start her own collection, promising to buy it sight unseen.

Each season, Jennifer artfully incorporates a range of materials to create unique heirloom-quality pieces, carefully constructed by hand in NYC. Complex pieces can take hours to create, and this dedication to quality is readily evident. Every piece is a special creation, waiting to come alive when worn. Each Swarovski crystal is prong-set by hand, and silk flower petals are curled using a pair of tweezers, so each petal maintains an organic shape.

For spring 2017, Behr opted for a garden of flowery delights. Delicate vines of flowers sprinkled with Swarovski crystals, painted flowers, and tiny birds. She’s also brought back some of her classic crystal pieces as chokers, but it’s the designer’s statement earrings that we can’t get enough of.
