Handbag designer Melissa Del Bono of meli melo is a magician of sorts.  She has revolutionized the way in which we carry purses by introducing the world to the thela bag – a sleek trapeze shape handbag with (patented) inverted handles.  The clever designer creates functional purses that are chic, inimitable, and, hence, highly coveted.  She designs with matchless confidence and focus, resulting in collections that are radical and refreshing.

Melissa Del Bono established meli melo in April of 2005, as a UK Limited Company headquartered in London.  From the outset, the company went to great lengths to source out the finest Italian leather and high-end tanneries in search of unsurpassed vibrant colors, suitable textures, and soft tones of leather.  Today, she continues to work with master craftsmen to ensure each bag has character, culture, heritage and uniqueness – and above all, quality workmanship and luxury materials.

The collection is made up of ten unique models, each serving an individual purpose ranging from everyday life to evening chic.  Every model is sculptural, yet understated; chic, yet practical. For Spring/Summer 2013 we saw a comprehensive exotic theme of contrasting textures fused with eye-catching shapes.  We absolutely love the oversized fluorescent thela manaos fluo bag with its slouchy trapeze shape, inverted handles, textured leather scales, and a fantastically eccentric shade of neon pink.
