Lines We Love: Saaksha and Kinni

Saaksha and Kinni, an unequivocal display of contrasting duos- freedom and surrender, logic and emotions, intensity and tenderness. Perhaps the most forthcoming duo for the brand is that of masculinity and femininity. A story of qualities carried in each of us if we look enough. Through the designs of Saaksha and Kinni, imagination takes way to tell the personal story of each wearer.

The brand emphasizing on driving inspiration from from the singularly homegrown technique of using dulled metal sheets woven through intricate thread work, striving to give a distinct global voice to their heritage. Saaksha & Kinni, in its entirety, represent the complement in contrast. Throughout collections, embroidery takes a darker, edgier mood, whilst prints pack a punch, with a whisper of whimsical. Unassuming, layered, enigmatic. The brand represents the dynamic complexity of women.

For the Fall Winter 2017 collection, the starting point of the season was the idea of equipping a woman with everything she needs on her journey to self-discovery. Women who match their grace with grit, delicacy with deadly and tenderness with temerity. Saaksha & Kinni dedicated the season to the woman aware of her own strength, who treats her clothing as armour. The collection, Armourage extracts the dualities that exist in each of us. Signature badla work compliments geometric patterns. Details are brought to life, as antique stones embed themselves in the collection designs.

Boyfriend jackets, trench coats and vests speak to tough, masculinity but exude a favorable quality when paired to billowy pieces, possessing warmth and a floral spirit. Strong shoulders and strict striping mingle with micro-pleating and femininity. Raw silk meets chiffon. In a play of complexity, the collection shatters the connotation that sexy requires skin, by overlooking the cliches of the female role. Saaksha & Kinni understands that there is vitality in understated glamour, and all heroines find a bit of strength in their armour.
