Collection Spotlight: Matthew Williamson Home

The art of marbling played muse in Matthew Williamson’s high summer collection, “Mirage,” which debuted last week at a mid-summer night’s dream London garden party, co-hosted and exclusively activated on Instagram with influencer shopping service LIKEtoKNOW.it. The collection was made for Williamson’s muse, the confident jet-set woman travelling to exotic lands in a wardrobe that spoke to Williamson’s free-spirited spin on glamour. Kaleidoscopic swirled prints covered bohemian-chic kimonos, slip dresses and shifts with fringed wristlets to match, and bejeweled snakes accented sequined minis and sweeping silk gowns in a rainbow of punchy citrus hues paired with pretty pastels. The Mirage marble prints felt surreal and painterly, and swirled alongside jacquard and geometric accents in a poignant juxtaposition.

The hero print carried over to Williamson’s luxe home line for Harrods, with jewel toned swirling prints playing habitat to Williamson’s iconic butterflies in rich custom upholstery, turning sofas and daybeds with mid-century modern lines and curves into pieces of collectible art. Gilded flamingo-legged side-tables added statement and whimsy, fitting in with a modern tropical jungle of Williamson wallpapers guaranteed to give any interior an air of faraway places and adventure without ever having to leave home.  And with a wardrobe full of this collection and a home marbled to match, we wouldn’t be surprised if you decided to stay in and host the party at yours.
