Some people that know her say it is all about her kindness that makes people feel special and cherished. Fern Mallis has fullfilled the dream of many fashion journalists in the world by interviewing the biggest names from the fashion set: from Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, Tom Ford to our always beloved Bill Cunningham.

Mallis has been a fashion industry guru for the last 30 years and is known for her role as president of the CFDA from 1991 to 2001- and as the award-winning creator of NY Fashion Week. Today she is the president of her own consulting company and has published her first book: “Fashion Lives: Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis” that incluyes the full interview transcripts of her conversations with fashion icons at 92nd Street Y in New York, a place “where inspiration lives and exploration begins—with a diverse range of classes and programs that let everyone pursue what they love”.

Her next conversation will take place in on June 3rd and she will be able to talk with designer and fashion icon Victoria Beckham about everything you wanted to know about her, but everybody was afraid to ask.

The publication that belongs to The Rizzoli family, featuring 19 interviews from Mallis’s conversations complimented with beautiful pictures. No doubt, it could be one of the most important encyclopedia of contemporary fashion.
