Olivia’s Enchanted Night in Paris with Analeena

The private dinner for 40 guests co-hosted by Olivia Palermo during Paris’ recent Haute Couture week was a truly glamorous affair. Celebrating one of Olivia’s favorite lines of luxury handbags – Analeena – the sparkling soirée was held at the Baccarat Cristal Room, where chef Guy Martin’s divine seasonal menu was served beneath the glow of massive crystal chandeliers.

Olivia wore an aubergine silk chiffon caped dress by Valentino, recently shown on the Spring 2016 runway.  She accessorized the look with an emerald green Analeena “Amuse Bouche” evening bag, Boutique 9 heels and her own jewels.

Alongside Olivia, the lady of the hour and Creative Director of Analeena, Lina Hamed, was present to receive guests as they ascended a grand marble staircase lined with flickering pillar candles in transparent hurricane vases.

The vast landing atop the staircase held the cocktail hour, during which Ruinart champagne and canapés were served to the sounds spun by a female DJ who sported one of Analeena’s mink and crocodile capes.

The event designer, Lucas Somoza, was called upon to flawlessly execute the evening.  He envisaged a romantic, dreamy décor of candlelight and pale blooms, ensuring that the featured handbags would draw everyone’s focus. Lucas’ dramatically lit tabletop displays accomplished exactly that. Dozens of brilliantly colored crocodile handbags were nestled within lush arrangements of roses and cascading orchids, or placed upon mirrored pedestals – compositions that elicited audible “oohs” from the fashionable crowd, prompting many to whip out their phones and photograph the glowing tablescapes.

After cocktails, Olivia and Lina invited guests to enter the main restaurant, where the seated, four-course dinner took place.  Awaiting each guest at his or her place setting was a custom-made gift from Lina: a slim, crocodile card case that featured a cleverly integrated mirror – the perfect memento to recall the beauty of such an enchanted evening.
