Runway Report: Alberta Ferretti Fall 2015

Bedazzling Baroque detailing, luxe textiles, and artistic prints marked Alberta Ferretti’s vision for FW15.  In a collection of rich red and rust hues and floor-sweeping silhouettes, Ferretti showed trademark attention to embellishment and looks fit for a fairytale.  Lust-worthy brocades layered with silks, lace, velvets and furs in a collage of textures that was nothing short of museum-worthy.

Dramatic and bold, Ferretti’s woman for Fall plays history’s muse, reimaging cultures and traditions in ensembles of wearable art.  A modern take on frilled Victorian necklines added moments of utter romance, kept contemporary paired with short hems and sleek over-the-knee boots.  High-waisted pants and bejeweled velvet loafers brought a modern day regal moment, as did gold leaf details swirling over sheer black lace.  Kicking off Milan Fashion Week, there’s no doubt what the best-dressed court will be wearing.
