Runway Report: Alberta Ferretti Fall 2016

We lost all our senses by the beauty and delicacy of what Fall 2016 looked like at Alberta Ferretti’s runway show. For her opening look, she opted for a lime jelly green, silk two-piece with nude lace panelling; wait, is it time for bed? As the models gracefully came down, we noticed a theme we’d seen before; underwear as outerwear. Except this time, it’s more boudoir meets club bed. Her color choices may have been bold for the start of her show, but as her collection progressed we saw a soft, girlyness and when we were greeted with a blush pink, velvet tailored pajama suit, we were hooked.

Ferretti held onto our gaze as she presented a collection which boasted a variety of fabrics and mixes. A grey wool, strapless gown anyone? Or how about a satin slipper pink lace, floor-length dress with heavy multi-colored embroidery? It seemed as though the designer was forecasting the coming season’s best color pairing; grey and pink and all shades in between.

As much as we’ve seen the undergarment trend prove to be popular, nothing boasts romance and style more than Ferretti’s take on feminine luxe. It was an ethereal and romantic collection which made for a bright Milan day, and an even brighter season ahead.
