Runway Report: Alexis Mabille SS18

For French fashion house Alexis Mabille, this season was all about youthful feminine charm, creating the perfect high-summer capsule wardrobe. Easy, breezy layers, voluminous cotton dresses and relaxed tailoring.

The collection was full of pieces that will no doubt gain a cult following come next season, from the cascading summer blossom and wisteria earrings to t-shirt tops with sheer or lace panels to the array of colourful flatforms with knotted straps.
We adored the paring of baggy t-shirts with matching full skirts, with their fluid gathers at the waist, falling just above the ankle. Plus, there was the pyjama inspired matching set with long-line shirt and wide-leg trousers, and later, a sublime indigo blue pleated maxi with floral covered (literally) shoulder panels.
In summary next season feels fresh and the perfect solution for the young urbanite spending summer in the city with weekends spent whiling away the hours in a sunny seaside town or country retreat – versatile and effortlessly chic.
