Runway Report: Antonio Berardi Fall 2016

A not so average Monday morning in London, and a not so average Antonio Berardi served up an alternative to the English breakfast. Instead, he went back to black with his Fall 2016 collection. Infused with ten different types of lace and the darkests of noir, Berardi decided to invite a punk rock princess and a 19th Century maiden for breakfast.

Where hair and makeup was concerned, the designer opted for a fresh faced glow, with just the slightest of lip staining as the focal point, leaving the clothing to speak for itself, without any influence.

Berardi stayed true to his feminine silhouettes but went outside of the fashion-box with his choice in dark hues. As far as style goes, his use of decadent lace, rivet-detailing and patent panels, made for a juxtaposed, yet wearable range. Trench coats with patent belts, one-shoulder waistcoats, lace-panelled maxi dresses and some ox-blood velvet for good measure, made up a catwalk show that forecasts vampish vibes for the coming season.
