Runway Report: Banana Republic SS17

Banana Republic’s chic presentation for Spring 2017 featured the unstructured silhouettes and soft draping that makes summertime dressing a breeze. Those design directives were combined with colors and prints that took their inspiration from modern India. Paisleys, scalloped details and laser cut edging were rendered in shades of orangey pink, vibrant sky blue, or navy – all of which looked particularly fresh and seasonally appropriate when paired against white.

Standing in stark contrast against the Mumbai-influenced color palette, Banana Republic also featured a series of separates executed in black and white (at times unicolor, otherwise striped or checked) that also garnered approval as warm weather musts.

Of note were several pieces included in Banana Republic’s see-now-buy-now program, chosen by our own Olivia Palermo, the company’s newest style ambassador. You can shop these pieces straight from the runway here.
