Runway Report: Carolina Herrera Bridal Fall 2016

For Carolina Herrera, Fall 2016 meant doing a smaller more concise collection of wedding gowns, complimenting what was shown for Spring yet with new detailing and reinvented silhouette’s to have all of us envisioning the #carolinaherrerabride who loves a modern take on classic bridal style.

This season the neckline of choice was ‘V’ shaped with cinched waists and details like lace appliqué trimming, corset bodices and subtle sheerness which provided a stable theme throughout. However, while intrinsically chic and romantic, she provided more out-of-the-box and playful options than ever before. For example, for the bride looking for something other than white and eggshell, delicate hues of lavender, rose and mint were found within pleated tulle skirts and a faded floral print. There was a two-piece option with a ballgown skirt and sporty racer-back cropped top and even an opportunity to wear two dresses in one thanks to illusion’s like a detachable half skirt layered over a slim column silhouette and another gown that seemed a ballgown at first sight actually featured a fitted layer underneath.
