Runway Report: Carolina Herrera Fall 2015

Being backstage at Carolina Herrera, before the lights went on and the hair and makeup complete, as the collection still hung ever so delicately on their hangers it was clear we were in for a treat (47 of them to be exact) all full of exquisite textile manipulation displaying a slightly new direction for the iconic designer.

Continuing her journey with natural elements, CH approached Fall 2015 by exploring various interpretations of water through both the literal and figurative sense. Colors ranged from teal to navy, dew grey and “deep ocean” shown as both strong solids and beautiful prints with names like “ripple”, “ocean spray” and “water drop” appropriately. Amongst the elegant yet modern collection stood incredible texture from start to finish assisted by contoured stitching, embroideries and multi-dimensional fabrications. There were silk jacquard gowns with illusion blue techno jersey detail, graphite wool felt coats with prince of wales and mohair trousers with blue fox scarves as accessories along with several houndstooth and chevron wool jackets, plenty for everyone to love.
