Runway Report: Chanel AW18

Another season, another grandiose Chanel show at the Grand Palais. For his Fall 2018 collection, Karl opaquely covered the runway with rustic leaves, while a natural photographic backdrop added themes of forestry. It almost felt like we were sitting in an ethereal and enchanted woodland – one which was constantly being hiked upon by Chanel girls!

There were copious amounts of signature pieces; tweed, woven chains, suits, and desirable shoes, to name a few. We saw the iconic suit get an upgrade to a 3D tweed with a raw finish in black and silver sparkles, velvet collar and pocket trim in burnt orange. While coats were printed in Fall dried leaf patterns and styled with double c earrings, double chained handbags, foil updated toe-cap boots and metallic fingerless gloves.

Chanel’s Fall 2018 collection gave us the wardrobe icons which other on-trend pieces could be built around, resulting in a well-rounded season and closet. To say that Karl’s work is an investment is an understatement.
