Runway Report: Chanel Fall 2017

In true Karl fashion, the Chanel Fall 2017 show was more than just a catwalk presentation. It was the lift off we all needed to close out the show season and head feet first into Spring. The fashion pack gathered on the last day of Paris Fashion Week with eyes wide, and spirits high to witness what theatrical event the creative whiz would elaborately showcase. Suffice to say the room had to hold on to their seats when a Chanel rocket actually lifted off the ground!

The theme for Fall 17′ was all things space; metallics were sewn into signature Chanel tweed, the toe-cap boots and shoes we all love were given a glitter upgrade, and if global warming ruins your outfit, there’s always the Chanel space blanket.

Our Winter wardrobes are in desperate need of the shearling and silver metallic leather belted coat, with transparent floral collar fastening. Paired heavily with a matching metallic skirt, polka dot lurex tights, and knee length moondust toe-cap boots, for a full spaceman ensemble. If that is slightly too much galaxy for you, you can tone it down with some signature tweed a la the mixed-media red, black and white skirt suit, worn with pewter glitter stockings, and lilac shiny boots.

There is no better way to close out fashion month than with a Karl Lagerfeld spectacle. Maybe next season we’ll all be going to Venus? Stay tuned!
