Runway Report: Christian Dior Fall 2017

It was a powerful march at Dior, both metaphorically and literally. Girls marched to a drum that was elegant, Parisian and impactful. Dressed in classy berets, military silhouettes, and casual fare, the models trotted down the catwalk in a new found light which will henceforth be known as Maria Grazia Chiuri’s signature (we hope). “I need to speak to the millennials, and understand this generation… because I want to support them,” commented Maria Grazia Chiuri, and her sentiments rang true as every navy-hued lady emerged.

Denim was a refreshing sight to see at the luxury fashion house’s showcase, as were the cross-body bags fronted with hardware studs, eyelets and ‘J’DIOR’ straps.

For a dressed up look, the Dior girl could opt in for a navy chiffon dress, fishnet tights, knee high boots, a highly-textured 3D cape-meets-gilet and semi-vintage Dior printed lady bag. Or perhaps she could sport the sheer maxi skirt with white wave embroidery and high-shine blazer in an alternative charcoal tone. For a more paired down style, there were some mid-blue denim dungarees styled with a wool blazer with the Christian Dior stamp of approval in dove gray.

We enjoyed this new found Dior femme and look forward to seeing how she and Maria Grazia Chiuri evolve over the coming seasons.
