Runway Report: Elie Saab

Dresses that invite us to dream… Once again Elie Saab honors women and feminism with the most sensual designs. The inspiration for Spring-Summer 2014 collection comes from nature: Flowers bloom and it is time of renewal and youth.

The lebanese designer proposes his work in gauze and silk perfect to shape a delicate, romantic and very feminine women, ethereal as a nymph. Through delicate overlays of fabrics, details, laces and light lingerie transparencies, Elie Saab uses sheer silhouettes and dresses to compose the ‘leid motiv’ of his collection.

Colors are taken from a flowered garden, full of camellia white, eglantine rose, bougainvillea and verdant green herbe de tendresse. They are combined with inky black that the pretend the garden captured at midnight. And as the collection develops, we see knits in honeycomb trellis or precise pleats that are combined with lace, while zips are exposed, lending an edge to refined evening looks.
