Runway Report: Hanley Mellon Fall 2015

While it may seem like just a hot second ago when we told you about Nicole Mellon’s Pre-Fall line (and how much we were swooning over it), upon viewing her Fall collection, if possible, we loved it 100 times more. As each collection is inspired from a travel destination, for FW15, Nicole and Matthew Mellon took us to Antwerp where they provided us with their interpretation of human migration by providing stunningly wearable American staples with an influx of European sophistication.

The models were stationed in a room full of fog starting with daytime ensembles perfect for disassembling and reassembling as you see fit. As you circled the room the collection slowly transformed from perfected separates (including some fabulous outerwear) focused on jewel tones in herringbone and silk that could be worn anywhere from the office to cocktails or even weekend-wear into luxurious evening pieces with striking embellishments found on knee length skirts, crystal covered bodices and heavy silk wide-legged trousers providing versatile options for anyone’s personal style to utilize.

And while the pictures don’t do many of the pieces justice you’ll just have to make sure you venture out and see them in person, oh and by ‘in-person’ we mean snag them up so you can watch them make themselves at home in your closets the second they hit the stores – we know we will.
