Runway Report: Hermès Fall 2016

The Hermes Fall 2016 show could directly be described as the falling leaves in Fall; with every shade from oxblood red, to gold, next season’s collection is set to be a manifestation of mother nature and her social life. Marle, pewter and dove grey represented a cloudy day where you would want to cosy up in one of Hermes’s boyfriend shaped, grey woolen coats. Similarly, on a crisp Fall day you could be sporting a cropped, knitted top with marble detail broach as you walk through crunchy fallen leaves. The detailing on the suede panelled, burgundy dress with silver rivets paired with matching gloves is perfect for a Winter dinner party, as is the grey fur vest with black leather belt.

A rich range of tan, gold, camel, greige and peach, paved the way for a simple season ahead where nothing is taken too seriously, apart consciousness for perfect cuts and silhouettes. Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski was once accused of bringing quiet femininity to Hermes under her creative direction. Be that may, but from where we’re standing it is nothing but quiet. If a collection this lush is to loudly mirror the season ahead, then we’re waiting with bated breath to wear it all.
