Runway Report: Jason Wu AW18

Jason Wu, known for dressing power-players, is always one to watch come fashion week and Wu’s Fall 2018 collection was no disappointment. Drawing inspiration from Italian architects and industrial designers Ettore Sottsass and Michele De Lucchi, the designer turned to jewelry and crystals to embellish his wearable collection.

A paint palette of dulce leche, cerulean, magenta, Merlot, and moss green was constructed into a dreamy, pleated and crystallized range that would work as a segue into the Winter months.

A kohl black blazer, mirroring the propriety pleating by Mariano Fortuny, was paired with a black multi-tonal jeweled tulle skirt and aggressive lace-up shoes. The showstopper of the day manifested as a top and skirt duo, in a dark leaf green, satin knotted blouse, tucked into a dark teal pleated midi-skirt, festooned with jewel-clusters.

If you’re in the market for happy-hour dressing then Mr. Wu’s Fall 2018 collection is fated for your wardrobe, as is it ours.
