Runway Report: Jonathan Simkhai

For Spring 2016, Jonathan Simkhai brought about a laid-back twist to his urban trekking and city-dwelling inspired collection. Featuring crisp streamlined looks in flirty silhouettes he balanced the juxtaposing ideas with his application of fabrics – a newly developed embroidered macrame and layering of lace specifically. With them he created everything from a day-time appropriate white cotton voile two-piece set featuring a boxy blouse and trumpet skirt which could be paired seamlessly with a pair of white kicks, a grouping of powerful yet slightly girly dresses full of mixed fabrications with an emphasis on frayed detailing and mermaid hems to finally a handful of sultry lace cocktail dresses leaving little to the imagination, perfect for a midnight jaunt around any metropolis and oozing the sex appeal that Simkhai loves to provide his customer’s .
