Runway Report: JW Anderson AW18

Always trust that Jonathan Anderson can always turn the fashion world in a new direction. As of this season, he will always show two collections at two shows a year, that is it. There will be Fall and Spring, and both will showcase menswear and womenswear at the same time, without breakage or separation.

His Fall 2018 collection felt a little extra-curricular, and outdoorsy, as though the models had places to be and they were going there in style. Part slip, part bomber jacket was sewn into a midi dress with combat style belt with mini pouches, styled with lace-up, ready-for-action boots. An almond hued jersey dress was embellished with ombre sequins starting in ultraviolet, blending into sunset yellow, before falling into shades of banana. This look was paired with a croc leather, rope plaited handbag and combat boots – an actively wearable look.

Between joining his collections and limiting his sales drops to stores only, J.W. Anderson seems to be heading towards the future by going back to basics, could this be another trend take-over? Stay tuned.
