Runway Report: Katie Ermilio

On the first evening of NYFW, (also known as a deeply freezing night), we all gathered at The Bowery Hotel Rooftop to see Katie Ermilio unveil her Fall 2016 collection in what was a fuse of romantics, devore, crochet and fur under a warm glow. For a designer who is getting the rep for being one of the most coveted eveningwear brands, she didn’t disappoint in living up to that accusation. Model’s took to the regal carpet to present a range which was impressive to the eye, and raging for the heart.

A color palette of dusky rose, camel, teal, dove grey and velvet applique black was constructed into evergreen styles and feminine silhouettes. The Fall 16 collection drew inspiration from the designer’s travels, which created an undertone theme. We can see pieces such as the strapless teal dress, with train detail at the Cannes Film Festival, or the fox stole, draped over a camel wool coat on the streets of Paris. Whatever the destination may be, Katie Ermilio prides herself on manifesting a collection which is timeless in every way. Take the cream, silk dress with neck-tie detail, a shape that every woman should own, and no woman would ever tire of, or her fox-fur teal jacket; a coat so lust-worthy we were slightly tempted to take it off the models back before heading out the door.

A Fall collection which keeps femininity, wearability and versatility at it’s core principle, it’s definitely full of pieces we’re jotting down in our little black book.
