Runway Report: Miu Miu AW18

Miu Miu debuted the Fall 2018 collection in Paris, with an opening by Elle Fanning. With an outburst of vocal support by Marc Jacobs and Gwendoline Christie, Fanning walked the collection wrapped in a 60’s overcoat, chiffon neckerchief and buckled boots. Leading the pack, models with teased beehives followed suit.

There was a semblance of suburbia that carried itself throughout the show- an almost, Tim Burton suburbia, with a hint of Crybaby. Miuccia Prada reverted back to the 50’s and 60’s, as she occasionally does, in a portrayal of diversity, not just in terms of race.

Doubled, buckled belts and chain necklaces alluded to rock and roll. Mohair sweaters and bleached denim, strengthened this notion, alongside exaggerated dogtooth tweed. Pastels were frothy and featured as leather jackets and coats. A collection of moody eveningwear walked the show, as well.
