Runway Report: Miu Miu SS17

It is not easy being the last show of the season – but it’s nice that it all ends with escape mode chronicles at Miu Miu.  As is the norm for Mrs. Prada, there were multiple meaningful headpieces, whether in retro print silks or glossy rubber flowers, accentuating the colorful pattern on pattern ensembles.  There were 60s inspired frills on bloomers, high wasted beachwear for daywear, towels that wrapped around and became skirt, and coats over swim. She is famous for contrast and maximalism – and there was no lack of either with stripes on coats layered over polka dot tender camisoles.   Most importantly, and very intentionally, the designer took the audience to the coast and inspired us with a nostalgic sense of place and a timeless, aspirational holiday form.
