Runway Report: MSGM SS17

Sporty met the sweeter side at MSGM SS17, in a collection where flounced ruffles, juicy fruit prints and fresh florals collided with varsity stripes, drawstring pulls and vented netting. Massimo Giorgetti played with layering to juxtapose the two opposing sensibilities, with black and whites spliced with prints embracing rich, bold-hued color palette.

Sheath dresses and flounced skirts were worn over biker shorts, argyle sweaters over oversized shirting, and swishy zip-hemmed track pants given a fashion-forward upgrade in luxe neutral tones paired with crochet ruffled tanks that made us want to take to the tennis court.

With mid-parted, sleek-downed hair and a slightly dewy glow, models donned the occasional dangling gold earring, carried utility-chic handbags wrapped in primary colored netting and neon neoprene flats ready for running. “She loves to go fast,” said Giorgetti, who with two directional and want-worthy shows under his belt this Milan Fashion Week shows no sign of slowing.
