Runway Report: No.21 Fall 2015

Contrast, that’s what Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s collection for No.21 adhered to this season. Romance with restrain, glitz with neutral. Think broken gold short dresses, oft found on goddess-warriors, topped with heavy grey coats. Muted blue fur jackets and skirts, with peeps of baby blue lurking around midriffs. For every frothy saccharine pink top, enveloped in chiffon layers, there were levellers, such as black lace gloves, fur hoodies, flat python boots. Pristine met heavy several times in the collection. Layering was all the rage too, the key to the weighty vs wafty. Even standalone pieces that, on first glance, oozed femininity, brought with them a thicker story, such as the nude lace, embroidered dress Kendall Jenner adorned, full with layers and ruffles. Our favourite? The brilliantly off-kilter black delicate floral dress laden down with an oversized striped sweatshirt.
