Runway Report: Prada Fall 2015

That 1% dip in sales in 2014 for Prada is certainly being addressed with the autumn/winter 2015 collection medley.  In her usual paradoxical manner, Miuccia Prada delivers a collection that is overtly feminine yet fundamentally technical.   She uses flat jersey neoprene, developed in ten different ways, to reflect all the concepts of the show.

Second to this heightened femininity, which was emphasized by prim dresses, costume jewelry and sculptural silhouettes, was a sense of soft pop – in part due to the candy colored palette and dropped hemlines. Almost everything shown was paired with ostrich-skin gloves, worn high up the arm.

“The collection was full of references to real and fake, and was also about impossible beauty and the cliche of what women like, ” she explains backstage.
