Runway Report: Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2015

We frequently ask ourselves What Would Stevie Wear, and clearly Rebecca Minkoff was doing the same for her FW15 collection.  Fringe was everywhere, from bags, to vests, to boots, to one floor-skimming sweater duster that had the Gold Dust Woman’s name written all over it. Leathers, suedes, and velvets paired with wispy floral printed silks and striped knits in looks that were all about interesting texture stories. A bi-coastal freewheeling rock and roll story was captured mixing Southwestern prints and fringe plackets with a nod to NYC’s Hotel Chelsea and a black on black chic color story.

Textured wool capes and moto-shearling coats layered up perfectly over both high-waisted minis and floaty maxis alike, and matching sets, whether jacket-skirt leathers or jacket-top-short in monochromatic luxe knits, were anything but off the rack expected.

Embroidered and embellished guitar straps became the perfect cross-body festival bag, medallion lace tights took looks to the next level, and feather lariat necklaces brought the free-spirited vibes.

Blame it on my wild heart, but I’m a little bit in love with everything.
