Runway Report: Rochas Fall 2016

The Rochas Fall 2016 catwalk show can be best described an ode to regal fabrics on a Havana color palette. Let us elaborate; tonal shades of mustard, peach, orange, kermit-the-frog-green, greige and cobalt blue, were reminiscent of multi-colored townhouses you’d see in the city of Havana. Fused together with rich and ornate materials such as velvet, brocade, silk, fur, chiffon and tulle, next season is set to be a fantastical traveller’s suitcase.

An emerald green, velvet blouse paired with gold brocade pants seemed perfect for a destination dinner affair, and the greige pleated slip dress ideal for seeing the sights. An obvious trend we spotted during the Rochas Fall 2016 show, other than the go-bright-or-go-home vibe, was the pairing of tights and socks with sandals and shoes. Could this be the new wave of footwear dressing come Fall? If so, we’re definitely putting in an order for a pair in each colorway.

The collection also had a bit of an entertainment feel to it too; fur, sequins and embroidery fused into a colorful range of eveningwear too good not to wear in the day. As far as next season goes, we’re looking forward to booking a flight somewhere, and packing nothing but the Rochas Fall 2016 pieces.
