Runway Report: Rochas SS17

The Rochas SS17 show was a pleasant wake-up call in Paris; crayon box colors streamed down the runway in layers of silk and pleated chiffon. Primary shades such as sun yellow, cobalt blue, green and candy pink adorned the models in a feminine aesthetic, forecasting fun frocks for next season.

As far as accessories went, we saw that Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Rochas’ creative director, added a whimsical touch to the wedged heel by updating it with brightly colored shine in magenta pink or royal blue. Models were decked to the nines in long evening gloves, and every other girl was seen holding a mini clutch for good measure.

Layers of luxurious fabric and silhouettes graced the catwalk look after look; it was almost like looking inside an artist’s treasure trove of crafts. A few pieces we wished were in our own personal troves consisted of an emerald green one-shoulder silk dress with asymmetrical pleating detail on the bodice and a peek-a-boo yellow slip, paired with blue wedged shoes and a singular tangerine evening glove. In addition to this, we loved the terracotta pot colored slip dress which was teamed with a blush beige long-sleeved crewneck top with the letter R embroidered on the left, showing that Summer can be romantic, bright and casual all at once.
