Runway Report: Sportmax Fall 2017

The Sportmax Fall 2017 runway show took a travel theme this season, whereby the catwalk was penned as a literal runway with dotted lines and arrows. It was as though the clothing were teeny tiny planes housing trends ready to land for Fall.

The predominantly monochrome collection was contrasted with hints of traffic cone orange. Certain pieces were adorned with the words “run” and “ready steady run” as if to reassure the audience to run towards the future, and if you needed a strong look while in transit, Sportmax would be there for you.

We could definitely get behind the monochromatic look of black tapered pants, a white shirt with mini run wording, layered under a chunky knit donning wide white stripes and large “runs”, topped off with a cozy reversible same-same scarf.  This was shortly followed by a sharper look in the form of a whipped cream pantsuit with silver eyelet waist detailing and harness clip, worn over a noir turtleneck and leggings. While the bright tangerine skirt and denim jacket suit riddled with tiny “ready steady run”, were a duo we could see ourselves sporting through a terminal or two.

Fall 2017, according to Sportmax, is set to be fun, gimmicky yet tasteful, and comfortable. The range was ideal for the millennial woman-on-the-go who always looks polished, whether she’s traveling or having a staycation.
