Runway Report: Stella McCartney Fall 2016

If you’re doing a show during Fashion Week, and your opening look is a jewelled amber toned, velvet puffer jacket paired with a metallic bronze pleated skirt, you’re definitely setting the bar high for the rest of your runway presentation. Much can be said about the Stella McCartney show which didn’t fail to please, look after look. McCartney who is lover of all animals, launched skinless skinned jackets and wadding padded coats this season, which automatically makes her a front runner in the most ‘innovative designer award’ contest.

The rest of the Fall 2016 collection came cascading down in a mixture of fabrics, textures and colors. Best described as a hybrid show, Stella McCartney showed her skills in constructing wearable pieces in denim, velvet, chiffon, tulle, knit and lace. Mixing casual, tailoring and eveningwear with every other model, McCartney held on to our attention when she brought out a pair of swan embroidered woolen trousers, paired with a lead grey blazer with white speck detailing.

Closing the show the same way McCartney opened, she sent down an irresistible bright navy velvet, midi-length puffer jacket with gold zip detailing. As far as bars go, it was themed as ‘the higher the better’, and just like that, there were a room full of amazed onlookers.
