Runway Report: Tommy Hilfiger SS16

Tommy Hilfiger splashed out on his annual immersive set for SS16 (literally), bringing the beach vibes inside with a wooden dock runway and a finale strut through ankle-deep waters. Hilfiger’s laid-back Caribbean chic collection spanned the whole color spectrum of primaries, with beachy bohemian vibes that took show-goers on a mini mid-NYFW holiday.

Retro florals and stripes met crochet swimwear, flowing maxis and slouchy lounge suits, and sporty separates with crafty patchwork details and some serious seventies vibes. Baja tops and nods to surf culture mixed with nods to the brand’s all-Americana staples with grosgrain belts, polo tops, varsity stripe details, and embellished jean jackets.

Models donned beachy waves and endless summer glows, and accessorized with bucket hats, flatform sandals and statement necklaces that could have been market finds from the designer’s latest exotic island travels. And speaking of island travels, we’re definitely yearning for one now, and we know what we’ll be packing…
