Runway Report: Topshop Unique

Another season, another fantastic collection; need we say anymore for Topshop Unique? The fast-fashion’s premium line offered up qualitative and whimsical pieces during their Fall 2016 show with styles that worked for all silhouettes and demographics. In fact it was clear to the eye that the backbone of this season was an “everyone-is-invited” theme.

From khaki and black & white houndstooth, to printed velvet and smokey greys, the Topshop Unique collection was formed on a basis of neutrals. However, what lured us in were the intricate cuts and details each piece boasted. Peep-a-boo necklines with tie fastenings, a stargazer embellished velvet blazer, with matching skirt, and a sequinned midi dresses with an applique house, all of which made it to the top of our wardrobe lists.
Topshop as a whole, at the best of times conjures up connotations of youth; however, their most recent runway collection states otherwise. With wearable pieces to cater for a large audience, it seems as though the fast-fashion maven is shifting gears, ever so slightly. Bringing us a season which will appeal to all, is definitely a season to look forward to. After all, a little youth is not such a bad thing when you’re sporting printed velvet, and rocking it!
