Runway Report: Zimmermann Fall 2016

Zimmermann’s dreamy bohemian vibe went cosmic for FW16, with shimmering lurex gowns and mini-mirrored accents in a collection that exuded light as it swept past.  There were signature floaty silhouettes with flared sleeves and flounced hems which this time were played up by layering them over lace and print leggings yet balanced with exposed shoulders and deep v-necklines.  Everything was about movement, from slouchy wide-legged pants to voluminous maxi dresses that made as much of a statement from the back as they walked past.

Zimmermann’s play on prints was opulent and eclectic, with a retro and romantic mix of paisleys, florals, mesmerizing brocades and metallic lace. Accents abounded from all-over mini-mirrors, sweeping fringe and cut-out details, and outfits were finished off with heavy metal chain link chokers and grommet edged clutches.

Beauty was bare faced and glowing paired with sleek low buns, keeping the focus on the ethereal meets regal feel of the collection and adding a fresh and forward looking edge.  If this is what the future looks like, we can’t wait.
