Runway Report: Zuhair Murad

Zuhair Murad thought of stars when he designed Fall 2015 Couture collection. Lights and glow on the runway that acted as constellations in a galaxy. In the backround, David Bowie singing “And the stars look very different today” No doubt he is one of celebrities favorite designers.

“I have a house up on the mountain and I spend a lot of time at night with a telescope, and I discovered so many beautiful colours,” Murad said. “I thought why not do a collection of the stars, of everything in this beautiful universe with this mysterious and twinkling light”.

Glamour and femininity characterized the Lebanese designer’s show which was held at the grand Palais de Tokyo in the French capital. From short tutu dresses to sexy overalls and long gowns with flaring skirts, the new collection was born between crystals that were presented in bright embroidery on gauze and silk.

Garments played with transparencies to highlight the skin of a much younger and daring woman than the one we are used to see. And though the palette was full of black there was also room for the green, burgundy, purple a wide range of blue and red. The end was a spectacular wedding dress that closed the show. By the way, we loved the star-jeweled belts.
