Runway Review: Barbara Bui Spring 2015

Slouchy and sheer seem to be recurring themes at the Spring 2015 collections, and Barbara Bui’s latest offering relies heavily on both trends while still managing to stand apart thanks to Bui’s touches of reflective foil metallics and a memorable pop of bright, juicy orange.  Oversized T-shirts, low-slung pants and billowing coats were executed in layers of gauzy fabrics, comprising the ultimate warm-weather wardrobe for Bui’s cool customer who will find plenty to purchase next season.  Among our favorite pieces were the skirts and trousers with shirtsleeve-like panels tied in front of the waist, classic leather jean-cut pants (with requisite rolled-up cuffs), and the long silk duster coats which were left untied in an effort to catch every gust of air, allowing us to truly appreciate the movement and lightness of Bui’s designs.
