Shop the Designer: Katie Ermilio

Her grandfather was a celebrated designer, creating the jacket soldiers wore in WWII and special pieces for Grace Kelly, so it’s little wonder Katie Ermilio went on to become a designer. From the age of 12 Katie was drawing and designing, and she grew up learning in her father’s clothing shop.

Her seamless transition between the two worlds – tailoring and drapery, romantic and raw – is what has put her on the radar’s of major fashion publications, such as VOGUE Australia and The Wall Street Journal, as well as in stores and boutiques including Barneys. The designer is well acquainted with party dresses and has a flair for occasion wear. While she’s partial to a playful bow and girlie chantily lace, every piece has an edge, whether that’s a raw hem or a monochrome theme.
